Instructions for using SRAM XX-1 and XO-1 cranks with our Wheels Mfg PF30 bottom brackets
Problem:
SRAM XX1 and XO1 cranks, when used with our Wheels Mfg PF30 bottom brackets, may bind on the Integrated Preload Adjuster (located on the spindle of the non-drive side crank arm). The following instructions will assist you in setting up your XX1 or XO1 cranksets for smooth operation.
Solution:
Insert a 0.5mm spacer between the Integrated Preload Adjuster and the bearing seal on the non-drive side of the crank. In addition, replace the stock drive-side 8mm spacer with 7.5mm of Wheels Mfg spacers.
Instructions:
Remove crankset from bike.
Add 0.5mm, 30mm ID spacer (PF30-0.5MMSPACE) to the left crank arm
Turn the Integrated Preload Adjuster (located on the spindle of the non-drive side crank arm) in the direction of the arrow until it contacts the crank arm. You may need to first loosen the 2mm adjuster bolt located on the preload adjuster.
Install left crank arm in PF30 BB, with 0.5mm spacer between the outer bearing seal and the preload adjuster.
Replace stock aluminum spacer on the drive-side with 7.5mm ofspacers.
Install right crank arm.
Tighten preload adjuster as needed.
